Geotechnical investigations in PNG

Pacific Infrastructure Group delivers geotechnical investigations for Papua New Guinea projects. We connect fieldwork planning, drilling and sampling coordination, testing and interpretation with the access, mobilisation and engineering requirements of the site.

Service overview

Ground evidence planned for PNG project conditions.

In Papua New Guinea, reaching and working on a site is part of the investigation brief. Access, weather, community arrangements and sample logistics need to be considered alongside the proposed works. Pacific plans the evidence around the current engineering decisions, then coordinates the field and reporting inputs so findings can be carried into design. The aim is to understand what needs to be resolved now and which questions can be addressed through later targeted work.

What we do

Our capabilities

Our investigations bring practical site arrangements and engineering objectives into the same programme.

We identify working areas, access needs and the local arrangements required for the field programme. Considering these dependencies early helps connect the investigation scope with the practical conditions under which the work will take place.

We plan investigation locations and testing around the proposed structures, earthworks or road alignment. Field observations and samples are connected to the engineering questions so the resulting evidence can explain conditions relevant to the design.

We bring field and test results together in an account of the ground conditions and their implications. Findings, limitations and further-work needs are explained so the engineering team understands the basis on which the information can be used.

What you receive

Deliverables

The deliverables connect the planned investigation with traceable evidence and a useful engineering interpretation.

The engineering objectives, field activities and testing requirements, considered alongside access and mobilisation. It gives the team a coordinated basis for arranging the investigation.

Value for your project

01

Practical mobilisation

Bring access and local arrangements into the investigation plan before field activities are scheduled.

02

Evidence tied to design

Focus fieldwork on the ground questions affecting the proposed structures, roads or earthworks.

03

A clearer technical handover

Explain the findings and limitations so related disciplines can use the information with context.
